MCI to OAK

January 10th, 2008

Tim Ferris may have his Clear card that he uses to bypass waiting in
checkpoints, but I have my own tools as well: MCI.

As you can tell by the snack napkin I was given I made it on the
flight. The new guy checking my bags was taking his sweet time while
they were calling my name on the PA system. Luckily the gate was right
next to the security checkpoint (gotta love MCI) that I was able to
let then know I was on my way. I did lose some gel through the whole
ordeal - which reminds me: would Loreal please bring back Grab styling
gel? The new stuff they replaced it with is a watered down version in
a stupid container that makes it evaporate and doesnt travel well.
Please don't make me buy by hair gel off eBay.

I just wanted to let you all know I set my new record today for making
the plane, although it was a bit close as they locked the door right
behind me and we took off within 2 minutes of boarding). I literally
had no waiting at any point in the process (I use parkridefly.com so I
don't have to wait for a shuttle) except for the new guy gettin' all
up in my wardrobe.

Wheels down at 11a and then I'm spending the weekend in the sweet new
condo that Logan & Ty just moved into (tywalrod.com for pictures).

Just got back on a weekend trip to NYC with Logan & Matt for the latter’s 21st birthday. We did a lot of fun stuff, but the only things we can really still remember are the few photos we took.

A few activities we did (outside of just a regular bar)
- Comedy club that Seinfeld is in at the end of his show
- Watch the Yankees get smoked on a grand slam by .167 batting avg
- Ferry to Stanton Island
- Hole in One attempt at Rockefeller
- Stayed at the Hilton with 52″ plasma and a view of the WTC
- Jack & Coke on a roof overlooking the Statue
- Jazz Club in SoHo
- Steaks on Wall Street
- “3 Appletinis, Governor”

New York City

From the Freakonomics blog:

As reported by Scott McCartney in today’s Wall Street Journal, U.S. airlines will begin offering wireless Internet access within a year.
