Good times here. Just a little video from our college graduation that Ty posted a while back. I’m just adding to the linkbait in order to get it to the #1 Google search spot for ‘Washburn Graduation’. We’re sitting #2.
EDIT: Well that didn’t take long. We are now the #1 spot - at least according to my results.
Just switched over the blog to word press. You probably didnt notice because I’m using pretty much the same theme. What do you think? The switch was mostly for admin functions, but if I find any cool plugins to use you might see a few new things.
Megan is in Washington DC with a group of students she organized to be homeless for 2 days. I’m looking forward to the stories she will have when she gets back. I found a pretty cool video service that makes free 30-sec videos with a set of photos (auto-imports from Picasa) & song you upload (all the transitions were auto-created based on the song tempo). Enjoy.
Slacker has been doing my music playlist for the last couple months and now that I’ve fine tuned it, it has been doing an exceptional job. If you’re into alternative (Daughtry/Foo Fighters), pop-punk (Cartel/Boys like Girls), easy-listening (Jack/Dave), some good hip-hop songs (Kanye/Bone Thugs), and a few country hits (Tim/Kenny) then you should really hit the play button below.
• 172 artists added to the list
• 426 favorite songs
• 92 banned artists (yes, Britney & N’Sync are part of it)
• 173 banned songs
• Some discovery; familiar popularity; minimum favorites; recent year
If you like what you hear, you can bookmark the link below to the station on Slacker.com:

There is a new multi-vitamin in stores that I promise will replace your morning coffee…AND your afternoon energy drink. I’ve been using them for about 2 weeks now and have definitely noticed the added energy boost throughout the day. The clutch is that it contains 200mg of a guarana/caffeine mix that is timed-released throughout the day. While the National Advertising Division may have concluded that “all-day” is misleading in the name, I think we could all agree that “9 hour work day” is right on. Walgreens has a generic for them which saves you $4-5.
You can’t just buy this stuff. Okay, so maybe you can. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that Google just overnighted me this little fun pack. Google had won my heart as an end-user long before this (search, email, calendar, photos, maps, finance, checkout, chat, bookmarks, notebook, rss reader, and even this blog), but now Jason from the Picasa team has proven once again why I trust Google with all my information. I honestly did nothing that would deserve anything retailing for more than $40, so let me just tell you my actions and let you decide.
Facebook recently released it’s “apps” that 3rd party developers could create and embed in the potential million+ of facebook users’ profiles. I had always wanted something that could sync my Picasa & Facebook photos so I wouldn’t have to post them twice, so when the call to developers came along I thought I might give it a shot. I reserved the name “picasaweb” (http://apps.facebook.com/picasaweb) because that’s what Google calls it in their domain (http://picasaweb.google.com). When I eventually got into the Facebook developer section I was completely lost; they had developed their own code that you had to use. I never really got back into the developer section and had lost all hope that I would be the one to make the Picasa-Facebook connection. A few other developers have since created minor programs that at least display your Picasa albums on Facebook [1] [2].
To conclude this mystery mess & be the first to confirm: Google’s Picasa team is developing an application for Facebook and the url is http://apps.facebook.com/picasaweb. They sent me the fun pack because I turned over the “picasaweb” name without any hassles. Jason also let me know that if I was ever in the Santa Monica area I could enjoy some free lunch at the office there (and that it wasn’t quite as good as the headquarters in Mountain View).
I’ve been having some problems with my blog not showing up on certain DNS servers, and that is WAY beyond my control (there are like 13 main servers that “control” the internet). I believe I fixed the problem and everything should be working as smooth as can be.
This probably only effects me @ work, and a user out in San Fran, but hey - when you only have 2 visitors you want to make sure they can see the site, right?
On a side note, I finally sold my Mountaineer. I think Jake and Eloan will be the only parties sad about this. A guy that his girlfriend’s daughter kept calling Joe Dirt “took it off my hands” (his quote during negotiations). Thanks, Joe Dirt. NO thanks, Joe Dirt - 4 hours later and this guy pulls out (leaving me still with the check). Typical Joe Dirt move: “hoping you can just rip up the check so I don’t have to mess with the bank”.
